tea time for babies

Hi!

This is a direct product shout-out.  The company is called Tea & they make adorable infant & kid clothes.

My daughter has received these fancy-free threads as gifts from generous family & friends.  My favorite part of the clothing is total marketing, I admit.  On the inside of each item is a printed "inscription" that reads

Everyday...they inspire us.  They make us laugh.  They sing and dance and run and spin.  They know what is important.  They love to love.  Kids remind us to play...everyday.

That makes you fee pretty happy, huh, even when you're struggling to get the clothes on because the kid really doesn't want to wear anything, ever, anyway ;)

I wish my clothes reminded me to play and relax a little everyday!

blind copying kind

You know how folks will sometimes have a quote after their name in the signature part of an email?  Well, I was recently blind copied on an email and the quote one of the gals chose to attach to her email signature was:

"Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind."   — Henry James

Needless to say, I'm excited that someone I'm doing business with is doing business with this gal.  Sounds like her priorities are in the right place :)

heard on the street

I just came from lunch with a girlfriend and she shared the sweetest story that I wanted to pass on.

She was asking me if I was ready for the baby I'm due to have the end of March.  We chuckled about never really being ready for a baby, especially when you've got a toddler.  Then we moved on to talk about the material stuff that I did or didn't have "ready" for the baby.

Somehow she came to be describing the scenario where she saw a young woman walking down the middle of her [quiet] street a few weeks ago, when there was so much snow on the sidewalks that we were all walking in the streets.  She said the gal was carrying one of those very awkward "pumpkin" seats that clip into the carseat base AND she had three over-stuffed bags hanging off her shoulders.  My friend--who has a 3 year old & and 8 month old--was moved by the struggle she knew this gal in the street must be having trying to carry all that stuff (not to mention the snow/ice).  She went out on her porch and called the the woman, "Hi!  Do you need a stroller?"

My friend invited the gal into her house, then ran out to her garage, dug under a few things and got a "snap-and-go" she called it (apparently it's like a stroller frame that a pumpkin seat sits in), and gave it to this woman.  End of story.  Pure, spontaneous, mother-to-mother, stranget-to-stranger kindness :)

fresh flowers

Hello,

It took me a good 20 minutes to figure out what was bringing on that lovely feeling.  Here I am at my desk:  same old computer, same old pile of stuff next to it, same old tick tick ticking of the new (loud) clock....hhmmm....it must be the potted hyacinth I treated myself to yesterday.  Just a few feet from my schnoz, yet it's scent has enveloped me in lovely happiness....

What a wonderful reminder of the simple pleasures in life.

Nothing fancy.  Nothing flashy.  Just a $10 pot of pink pleasure.  I had no idea how much I would LOVE the smell.  The strong, possibly over-powering fragrance has me seemingly intoxicated!  Yippee!!

I just wanted to share this emotion as I thought it may inspire you to indulge in something simple for yourself or for someone else.  See who you can surprise, perhaps, like me, it may even be yourself!

Kindly,

Emma
